Legal Secretaries of Cape May County, Inc., was established in 1990.  Prior to 1990, members of this organization were part of the State of New Jersey Legal Secretaries Organization and the National Legal Secretaries.  Since the members of Cape May County had to travel such great distances to attend each meeting and event, and due to the significant price for annual dues, the Cape May County members branched off and formed what is now known as the LEGAL SECRETARIES OF CAPE MAY COUNTY, INC.

The Legal Secretaries of Cape May County have monthly meetings which enable members to socialize and interact with the secretaries, paralegals, clerks, legal assistants and representatives with whom they interact on a day-to-day basis.  Another reason for the meeting is to have guest speakers who are employed in the legal field, title companies, banks, trust departments, county or municipal governments to present our members with new filing procedures, new laws or general legal information to assist those members in their employment.  The Legal Secretaries of Cape May County, Inc., also believes in assisting our community and/or the county.  The Legal Secretaries have been involved with the following:

- The Jeffrey Israelow Scholarship Program
- Legal Secretaries of Cape May County Scholarship Program in
     conjunction with Atlantic Cape Community College
- St. Nick's Mission-The United Way
- CARA
- Thanksgiving Care Baskets 
- March-of-Dimes Walk-a-thon; and
- Christmas Express

just to name a few.

We have members who organize committees such as the Restaurant Committee, Membership Committee, Fund-Raising Committee, Guest Speaker Committee and the Scholarship Committee. 

The Legal Secretaries of Cape May County, Inc., meet the third (3rd) Tuesday of each month.  The restaurant of choice is decided upon by the Restaurant Committee.  The restaurants vary between Cape May and Atlantic County.  This is done so that travel time is equal for those members who reside in Atlantic County and Cape May County.   Dues are only $15.00 per year.
